Last week, ²ÝÝ®tv Slovenia organized a first webinar in cooperation with BlackRock and ²ÝÝ®tv FMA. ²ÝÝ®tv Croatia, ²ÝÝ®tv Macedonia and ²ÝÝ®tv Serbia members were also invited and the webinar started with the opening remarks of the new ²ÝÝ®tv Europe president Branko Petrović, who welcomed ²ÝÝ®tv Slovenia's initiative of regional virtual events until the present situation does not allow us to organize live ones.
The research programme was opened by the prominent speaker, Mr. Scott Thiel who is Chief Fixed Income Strategist of BlackRock institute. His presentation was focused on the update of the BlackRock 2021 global outlook with very interesting 2021 key investment themes: (1) The new nominal in the context of rising global yields, (2) Globalization rewired in the light of Covid-19 geopolitical transformations and (3) Turbocharged transformation such as increasing focus on sustainability.
The next theme was the increasingly important topic of sustainable investing, where Mrs. Manuela Sperandeo, EMEA EII Head of Sustainable Indexing at BlackRock International Limited, presented industry catalysts for the shift to sustainable, focusing on EU Paris aligned and climate transition indices. The ESG theme was rounded off by Mr. Richard Steel, Index Strategist within the EII Investment and Product Strategy team at BlackRock International Limited, who explained us navigation in equity ESG and highlighted key client questions when choosing an ESG index.Â
Finally, Rui Correia, ²ÝÝ®tv FMA Director of Education, who also provided all the technical and logistic support, concluded the webinar with inspiring closing remarks.Â
More than 135 ²ÝÝ®tv members from 48 institutions in the region participated. The feedback from the attendees was very positive, which give us impetus for further events.
